Twelve 33 Distillery
< Back to Portfolio
KBDG partnered with PMH Architects in converting the property into a distillery, emphasizing the prohibition era. The main focal point is the impressive 44-foot-long bar. The back bar boasts a large glass window exposing the 500-gallon German Copper Still. Framing the view are stacked whiskey barrels against a brick wall. Aged beams with round metal light fixtures extend the presence of the large bar. Two large custom iron chandeliers, with the Twelve 33 logo welcome guests into the tasting area. Additional custom chandeliers are made from old reclaimed wood and the clients’ own whiskey bottles. Windows are covered in copper still silhouettes and window film promoting the nostalgic atmosphere inside and out. The large tasting room walls are covered in various shades of aged wood planks throughout to unite the spaces. A lounge area is highlighted by various prohibition newsreels projected onto a nearby brick wall. A hidden doorway conceals a speakeasy lounge that evokes the core theme of prohibition through the use of worn leathers and crystal pendants.
