Essex Bar & Bistro

Essex Bar & Bistro attracts a diverse downtown crowd. The design centers on an eclectic mix of finishes and wall décor. A 1950s television converted into a hostess station greets you upon entering. The entry area is separated by a custom-designed warehouse window divider. The dining room offers an expressive mix of seating arrangements and finishes including a round booth covered in British flag fabric. Custom booths were made and covered in black and white hound’s-tooth for the rest of the dining area. Aged pieces of copper cover the 28’ bar front, while large ornately framed mirrors function as liquor storage over black subway tile. Overhead, a custom chain light fixture dominates the long bar. An artistic mix of rusted oil can lid sculptures, tattooed art figures, vintage camera collection, Queen Charlotte stamp collection tie, and many more create these expressive visual stories.
